ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT/TEAM
We focus on boosting prosperity and social development through stronger UK - Indonesia
research links, enabled by the Newton Fund. By working with the Government of Indonesia, we have supported the establishment of research links between universities in Indonesia and their counterparts in the UK, provide support to research sector in Indonesia as well as support economic development and social welfare through developing research and innovation capacity.
The British Council Indonesia is working alongside other key UK organisations and in partnership with the Government of Indonesia to deliver the UK-Indonesia Science and Technology Fund (Newton Fund) in Indonesia to benefit both countries researchers, through programmes such as Researcher Links and Institutional Links, among others.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING AND WHY
The Programme Officer provides project and administration support to a range of projects/programmes/contracts as appropriate managing project resources and activities to ensure that project objectives are delivered on time, on budget and to the highest level of quality to ensure impact. Supporting programme team to deliver a successful portfolio by ensuring programme knowledge and data is gathered, recorded and shared effectively.
WHAT IS INTERESTING ABOUT IT
This post will work primarily in the theme of higher education partnership and science. We aim to provide a global dimension to higher education in Indonesia. We support reform efforts, establishing international partnerships in higher education providing UK provision in Indonesia and establishing research partnerships.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience in project or programme management
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of finance and administration work;
- Good interpersonal skills, able to work cooperatively and effectively with other team members and project stakeholders;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Undergraduate degree in any discipline
- Bahasa Indonesia at Proficiency Level – Native / bilingual and English at professional working proficiency, equivalent to IELTS Band 5.
