Herlin studied a Master’s in Drama and Theatre in Education at the University of Warwick. Herlin is now a lecturer at the English Study Programme at Universitas Indonesia. She established English Art Lab, a community non-profit that aims to empower children and young people through creative education. She also initiated English without Borders, a social programme to teach English to children and young people from underserved populations. Her love and passion for theatre inspired her to create Theatre for Life, where disadvantaged young people can be empowered through theatre education.
Herlin says that studying at the University of Warwick gave her the opportunity to experience new things. Upon her return, she combined what she learned in class about educational theatre, and from her volunteering experience at a local community organisation, to develop creative, community-based learning institution for children and young people.
