Louise received her Bachelor’s Degree in Theology at Durham University, and subsequently led a development research project in Zambia for the UK-based charity Transaid, working to understand and improve transport conditions for market traders in Zambia.
Following the research project, Louise joined the UK Civil Service on the Fast Stream graduate scheme. She has worked for the Civil Service in London for the past five and a half years, spending one year in the Cabinet Office covering justice and home affairs issues, and the rest of her time in the Department of Energy and Climate Change working on renewable energy, international energy security, gas and electricity policy.
Louise is currently working as a political counsellor in the British Embassy in Jakarta on temporary basis, and will return to her role as Head of Domestic and International Gas Network Regulation in London in 2016.
