Anima Expo is the biggest anime expo in Indonesia that showcases the very best of Indonesia's animation industry. Anima Expo is part of HelloFest, the largest pop culture festival in Indonesia. In 2013, HelloFest is going even stronger with an estimated 30.000 audience and 300+ exhibitors.
As part of the Anima Expo and Hellofest the British Council brings in high profile UK animation experts to share the latest in animation technique. In May 2013, Gary Thomas (Film Advisor at British Council UK), delivered a masterclass that attracted almost 600 people in an University in Bandung, Bandung Institute of Technology. Anime fans also enjoyed the "Best of British Film and Animation" exhibition held during the Anima Expo that showcased the latest in UK animation.
As a highlight to the Anima Expo, Indonesian animators had a chance to be part of business matching to have their work and skills taken to another level. The British Council facilitated this by showing potential opportunities available in UK and sharing examples in other countries.
