Co-developed together with two UK-based organizations Abandoned Normal Devices and The Kazimier, British Council Indonesia is delighted to announce the following creative exchange opportunities for Indonesian-based creative practitioners interested and experienced in digital arts, new media arts and creative technology.

[Open Call]: Creative Exchange for Curators, Arts Managers or Creative Producers with Abandoned Normal Devices at AND Festival 2020, Liverpool

About the programme

A creative exchange opportunity for an Indonesian based curator/arts manager/creative producer, to work with Abandon Normal Devices (AND) during the development and delivery of AND Festival in May 2020. Supported by the AND team, the selected candidate will collaborate to curate/produce activity as part of the festival programme that responds to our site and themes. AND Festival 2020 will take place in various locations across Merseyside and Cheshire (UK) with a festival hub located in Liverpool. The majority of the placement will take place in Liverpool with time spent working in the AND office in Manchester and a production base in Liverpool in the run up to the festival when in the UK.

The exchange will involve remote working (meetings over Skype) whilst in Indonesia and travel to the UK in February and May 2020.

 

Who can apply?

This call is open to individuals working as a curator/arts manager/creative producer in Indonesia, with experience/interest/understanding of digital culture/creative technology (new media art) and creative media trends.

[Open Call]: Creative Exchange for Artists, Musicians or Creative Practitioners with The Kazimier at Invisible Wind Factory, Liverpool

About the programme

The exchange will involve working with The Kazimier on the development and delivery of creative content for a number of their projects in spring 2020 and also offers an opportunity to be in the UK for the Abandon Normal Devices (AND) Festival in May 2020. 

The selected candidate will be hosted and supported by The Kazimier, at their venue and creative hub, Invisible Wind Factory (IWF) in Liverpool, UK. The selected artist would be able to develop their own practise independently and within the creative framework that Kazimier projects provide, whilst becoming thoroughly embedded into the creative ecosystem of the IWF, and Liverpool.  This will include anything from joining in with creative team sessions, working individually, and participating in workshops, to attending events and field trips.

The opportunity will involve two visits to the UK, in January 2020, and in April 2020, ending with AND Festival in May 2020.

 

Who can apply?

This call is open to individuals working as a creative practitioner in Indonesia working with performance based artforms (director, choreographer, percussionist, dancer, writer, dramaturg or singer), or interdisciplinary artists working across varied artforms, including design and visual arts, music (live and digital), creative technology and new media, theatre, costume/ mask making.
