The ASEAN-UK SAGE Women in STEM Scholarships, a collaborative initiative between the British Council and the ASEAN Secretariat funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (UK FCDO), is a vital part of the broader ASEAN-UK SAGE Programme. This partnership underscores a shared commitment to gender equality and women's empowerment throughout the ASEAN region and Timor-Leste.
These scholarships provide women from ASEAN member states and Timor-Leste with the opportunity to study for a master’s level degree programme at select UK universities.
The ASEAN-UK SAGE Women in STEM Scholarships aim to:
- Break gender barriers in digital skills and STEM employment.
- Increase access to STEM education for girls and support disadvantaged women pursuing STEM careers.
- Address the underrepresentation of women in STEM across ASEAN and Timor-Leste, fostering inspirational advocates and role models.
We are thrilled to announce the scholars for the ASEAN-UK SAGE Women in STEM Scholarships 2024!
These remarkable women from Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, Malaysia, Timor-Leste, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, and the Philippines have shown outstanding passion and commitment in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
