The Creative Economy Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is an agreement between UK and Indonesian governments to collaborate in the development of the creative industries, which naturally influences all creative industries programmes that the British Council is involved in. It provides a foundation for creative programmes that will share the UK’s creative expertise in Indonesia.
In November 2012 the Indonesian Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry and UK Ministry of Culture, Communications and Creative Industries agreed to cooperate to increase the capacity of human resources as well as to jointly conduct various trainings, activities and studies on creative fields such as film, fashion, architecture, music design and culinary.
Indonesia’s Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry and the British Council is currently forming a working group that formulate programmes and events to put the agreement into practice.
